He did this during a chapel service. It was fascinating - he told the Gospel story - each part of Jesus' life –
and he was drawing the story as he told the story.
We didn't realize until the end what the entire picture was. A rare talent!!!

THE FIRST time someone called me "Manong," I panicked. It was like getting jolted by a live wire. But my world really collapsed when, while I was standing inside a commuter bus--a young lady stood up and politely offered her seat to me. "Lolo, maupo, ho, kayo," she said.

That was about 15 years ago, when I was still in my early 40s. Like being struck with a thunderbolt, I could not believe, much less accept, the reality that I was growing old and nearing the twilight zone. It seemed like it was only yesterday when I was full of zest. When you are young, you don't actually walk--you swagger. You seem to be always in a hurry.

While covering the diplomatic beat and eventually working in the desk, everything seemed to be on the fast lane. So much to do in so little time. Events must be covered, stories must be written, rewritten and copyread; deadlines must be met.

It was a dizzying world. After an exhaustive day at the desk, you need to unwind, to replenish the zapped energy, and you drink. In my younger days, every time I went to my favorite watering hole, I vowed to drink only six bottles. But after guzzling six bottles of the golden brew, I usually lost count or just stopped counting altogether.

At the National Press Club, it was not unusual for bar habitués like me to stay up to the wee hours of the morning, with the convenient excuse of waiting for the traffic to ease up--drinking beer or playing a game of balut or domino and doing other things afterwards. The options were infinite. It was indeed an orgiastic life.

In mid-morning the day after, you wondered how you reached home alive in your rickety 1969 Toyota. You swore that some unseen hands might have driven you home because you could not even remember boarding your car, let alone driving it home. Thinking of it now really scares me no end.

In his most memorable poem, "Youth," Samuel Ullman says, "youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind. It is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees. It is a matter of the will, a quality of imagination, a vigor of the emotions.

"You are only as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair," Ullman continues.

Encouraging words, huh? And John Keats has told us that "poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world." So, Ullman could never be but correct.

But is it state of mind when the pain in your legs, caused by gout or arthritis, would not go away? Or when you are gasping for breath during a bout with asthma, or when your left extremities refuse to obey your brain's command because the nerves have been deadened by a recent stroke?

Is it state of mind when you can feel a sudden blip in your heart probably because of wear and tear? Or having a failing vision or a fading memory?
Tempura mutantur, et nos mutamur in illis. The times are changing, and we with the times.

With apologies to Ullman, for me growing old is not a state of mind but a time of life. Better still, a time when life has fully ripened and ready to be plucked by the Giver.

Indeed, you are already growing old when you experience the following:

When driving, you allow the car that tails you to overtake and cut into your lane, yet you do not curse.

When you become more tolerant with your staff if you are the boss, and with yourself if you are not.

When, after 30 years of marriage, you suddenly realize that your wife cooks the best food in the world.

When you begin to smell the fragrance of the roses in your wife's garden.

When you want to knock off early and rise early to watch the crack of dawn and savor the last drop of sunlight, fearing that that day could be your last.
When visits to your doctor become more frequent.

When you prefer to horse around with your grandchildren instead of playing around with GROs in beer joints.

When you have your fill with one glass of red wine in the evening instead of the usual "six bottles" of beer.

When you enjoy being alone in your library, listening to the oldies of Nat King Cole, Jerry Vale, or Henry Mancini.

When your greatest dream is to make that long-delayed trip to your home village to go fishing or just to take a glimpse, perhaps for the last time, of those familiar spots in your childhood.
When you begin to discover the power of prayers and to silently commune with your God, a thing that you failed to do for many years.

If you have experienced all these, and many more, welcome to the club. Feeling old, like misery, certainly loves company.

Saving berries from mold

The key to preventing moldy berries? Vinegar!

Berries, particularly super-fresh berries, are just wonderful, aren't they?

But they're also kind of delicate. Raspberries in particular seem like they can mold before you even get them home from the market. There's nothing more tragic than paying $4 for a pint of local raspberries, only to look in the fridge the next day and find that fuzzy mold growing on their insides.

Well, with fresh berries just starting to hit farmers markets, you can tell that we Foodlush writers have berries, and how to keep them fresh, on the brain this week! First Jonna shared this excellent tip on how to salvage berries that are starting to lose their luster. Now I'm here to share a tip on how to prevent them from getting there in the first place:

Wash them with vinegar.

A friend of mine shared this tip with me a few weeks ago, and it really, really works. When you get your berries home, prepare a mixture of one part vinegar (white or apple cider probably work best) and ten parts water. Dump the berries into the mixture and swirl around. Drain, rinse if you want (though the mixture is so diluted I find you can't taste the vinegar,) and pop in the fridge.

The vinegar kills any mold spores and other bacteria that might be on the surface of the fruit, and voila! Raspberries will last a week or more, and I've had strawberries go almost two weeks without getting moldy and soft. So go forth and stock up on those pricey little gems, knowing they'll stay fresh as long as it takes you to eat them.

Military Pay

This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' editorial piece in the Washington Times about MILITARY PAY; it should be printed in all newspapers across America.

Ms. Cindy William wrote a piece for the Washington Times denouncing the pay raise(s) coming service members' way this year citing that she stated a 13% wage
increase was more than they deserve.

A young airman from Hill AFB responds to her article below. He ought to get a bonus for this.

"Ms. Williams:
I just had the pleasure of reading your column, "Our GI's earn enough" and I am a bit confused. Frankly, I'm wondering where this vaunted overpayment is going, because as far as I can tell, it disappears every month between DFAS (The Defense Finance and Accounting Service) and my bank account. Checking my latest earnings statement I see that I make $1,117.80 before taxes per month. After taxes, I take home $874.20. When I run that through the calculator, I come up with an annual salary of $13,413.60 before taxes, and $10,490.40 after.

I work in the Air Force Network Control Center where I am part of the team responsible for a 5,000 host computer network. I am involved with infrastructure segments, specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. A quick check under jobs for "Network Technicians" in the Washington, D.C. area reveals a position in my career field, requiring three years’ experience in my job. Amazingly, this job does NOT pay $13,413.60 a year. No, this job is being offered at $70,000 to $80,000 per annum............ I'm sure you can draw the obvious conclusions.

Given the tenor of your column, I would assume that you NEVER had the pleasure of serving your country in her armed forces.
Before you take it upon yourself to once more castigate congressional and DOD leadership for attempting to get the families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN; I leave the choice of service branch up to you. Whatever choice you make though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience."

As your group prepares to board the plane, make sure to note the spouses and children who are saying good-bye to their loved ones. Also take care to note that several families are still unsure of how they'll be able to make ends meet while the primary breadwinner is gone. Obviously they've been squandering the "vast" piles of cash the government has been giving them.

Try to deploy over a major holiday; Christmas and Thanksgiving are perennial favorites. And when you're actually over there, sitting in a foxhole, shivering against the cold desert night, and the flight sergeant tells you that there aren't enough people on shift to relieve you for chow, remember this: trade whatever MRE's (meal-ready-to-eat) you manage to get for the tuna noodle casserole or cheese tortellini, and add Tabasco to everything. This gives some flavor.

Talk to your loved ones as often as you are permitted; it won't be nearly long enough or often enough, but take what you can get and be thankful for it. You may have picked up on the fact that I disagree with most of the points
you present in your open piece.

But, tomorrow from KABUL, I will defend to the death your right to say it.

You see, I am an American fighting man, a guarantor of your First Amendment right and every other right you cherish...On a daily basis, my brother and sister soldiers worldwide ensure that you and people like you can thumb your collective noses at us, all on a salary that is nothing short of pitiful and under conditions that would make most people cringe. We hemorrhage our best and brightest into the private sector because we can't offer the stability and pay of civilian companies.

And you, Ms. Williams, have the gall to say that we make more than we deserve?

IN GOD WE TRUST

Christmas Poem
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.
I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,

Biggest dog in the world !

PETS Meet George the Great Dane
The first time we saw George, our beloved Great Dane, he was no more than a tiny, cowering ball of fuzzy fur. As my wife Christie opened the door of the crate he’d travelled in, he teetered to a standing position and looked out at us, moving his head slowly from  side to side, taking in the wonder of it all. Finally, as if weighing us up and deciding we were acceptable, he tentatively pushed his little nose forward and gave Christie her first lick.

He came into our lives in January 2006, just a few months after we had married and set up home in Arizona . We both had busy jobs, Christie selling medical equipment while I was a property developer, but she had always planned that, once she had a house of her own, she would also have a dog.
She wanted a Great Dane as they make great family pets, so we tracked down a litter of 13, born 1,000 miles away in Oregon .  Their owner emailed us a photo showing a chaotic jumble of paws, snouts and tails. Twelve were entangled with one another, but our eyes were drawn to one pup standing apart from the rest. He was clearly the runt, endearing him to Christie immediately.
Though it didn’t really register, George’s paws were comically large even then. But all we saw was this cute puppy. We certainly never dreamed he would one day become the biggest dog in the world, standing nearly 4ft high at the shoulder, 7ft long and weighing nearly 18 stone. Right now, he just looked bewildered.
George made the long journey from Oregon to Phoenix by plane and  we picked him up from the freight area, tired but unshaken.. As soon as George settled into our home, we discovered our plans to be fair but firm parents were wishful thinking. All the things that make  Great Danes wonderful pets — their lack of aggression and their
attachment to humans — make them more emotionally sensitive than other dogs. They need to be with their ‘pack’ at all times and at night the cute pup with intensely blue eyes turned into a caterwauling banshee whenever we tried to leave him alone in the kitchen.
No matter how much we reminded ourselves that he had every home comfort (warm dog bed, warm blanket, warm kitchen, squeaky bone), each whimper created a picture in our heads of a   tragic, abandoned pup, desperate for his mother. Eventually, we gave in and shunted George’s dog bed into our bedroom.

In the coming months, Christie really threw herself into being a  mum to George. As well as a photo album, he had a growth chart — we were soon reading it in awe. At five months he still acted like a puppy, chasing his tail and playing games of fetch and tug-of-war with his favourite bit of rope. But he was already the size of a fully-grown Labrador . He was putting on more than a pound a day  and he bounded around like Bambi, skittering on our wooden floors and hurling himself at everything he fancied, including us humans. His displays of affection could leave you pinned temporarily against a wall or a piece of furniture.
His size did not go unnoticed in the outside world. Our local park  had a section for puppies but we were bullied out of it by other owners, who were scared George would hurt their pups — but the opposite was true.
The smaller dogs ran around and under him, and he’d be constantly sidestepping them, obviously anxious and jittery. Slowly we realized that our enormous puppy was a big softie. Besides his terror of
being left alone, he had a fear of water. He’d growl anxiously at the side of our swimming pool, alarmed that his ‘pack’ members would so willingly place themselves in danger of drowning.
If the pool was his most-hated place, his favourite was our bedroom. Eventually he outgrew the single mattress we placed there for him and preferred instead the comfort of our king-sized bed — sprawling between us like some over-indulged prince while we spent half the night clinging onto the edges.

In the summer of 2006, we solved this problem by buying him his  own queen-sized mattress, which he still sleeps on today at the bottom of our bed. But soon we encountered another challenge as George reached doggie puberty. Once he had grabbed life by the lapels, now he was grabbing onto legs — table legs, chair legs, human legs, he wasn’t picky — and doing what all male dogs do with the vigour of a canine giant.
He calmed down in the furniture department after we had him neutered, but then he took up a new hobby, eating as if it were an Olympic sport. A sausage on the barbecue was like a siren to a passing sailor. You couldn’t turn your back for a minute. And he was so tall that he actually had to bend down to pinch food off kitchen  counters.
He could reach the high shelves as well, so we had to hide everything  away in cupboards. Soon, he was getting through around 100lb of dry dog food every month.
As he approached his first birthday in November 2006, weighing about 14 stone, it was getting physically impossible to make him go anywhere he didn’t want to — including the vet’s surgery. He had not forgotten the time he went there in possession of his manhood — and came out less than whole. As soon as he recognized the entrance, he refused to move. So I had to take him around to the less familiar back door instead.
For all these troubles, George gave us plenty in return, not least the following year when Christie lost the baby she was carrying.  Evidently tuned in to her grief, George was a constant presence at her side. When she sat, he sat too. When she stood, he stood and padded alongside her to wherever she was going.
His personality grew more delightful the bigger he got. A male Great Dane typically weighs from nine to 11 stone, but by Christmas 2007 George weighed 15 stone — bigger than most men. At this  point, he loved being chauffeured around in my golf cart and would sit in it, his haunches on the seat and front legs on the floor.   By Christmas 2008, our canine colossus weighed 18 stone. A friend  suggested he might be a contender for the Guinness Book of Records, but we had other things to think about: Christie had  discovered that she was pregnant again.

The trouble was, when our daughter Annabel arrived that September  George made it clear he wanted nothing to do with this interloper. He was used to spending nights in delightful oblivion at the foot of our bed. Annabel’s high-decibel presence simply wasn’t on. When she cried, he’d wake, harrumph and then turn over in annoyance. Once it was clear the racket was going to continue, he’d exhale  heavily again, till one of us finished that mysterious feeding thing we did with the noisy intruder.
But while he might not have cared much for Annabel, George loved  her dolls, especially a stuffed green one that played a nursery rhyme when squeezed. Whenever he could, he placed it between his paws and pressed it so he could hear the tune. It was like a security blanket. It was a period of such big adjustment for him that if it made him happy, then it was fine by us and our patience was rewarded.
Slowly, George understood that Annabel was our pack’s youngest member and in need of his affection and protection. And on Christmas morning, he ended his three-month sulk, acknowledging her presence with a lick of her hand. It was the best present we  could have had — although the beginning of 2010 brought more good news.

Over the previous weeks, while Annabel slept, Christie had applied to the Guinness World Records people on George’s behalf. That February, one of their adjudicators came to watch George being measured in the presence of a vet. He was officially declared not  just the world’s tallest living dog (43 inches from paw to shoulder) but the tallest dog ever.
The following week we flew to Chicago to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show and were put up in one of the city’s most luxurious hotels. We had a huge sitting room, dining area and even a bar —  but there was just one problem. There was nowhere for George to sleep.
As we enjoyed a gourmet meal and a bottle of red wine that night, he struggled to settle on two roll-out divans provided for him. Infuriatingly, they wouldn’t stay together. So he had his head on  fontfontfontfont

On Jeopardy the other night, the final question was "How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns"  ---- All three contestants missed it! --

  This is really an awesome sight to watch if you've never had the chance. Very fascinating.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

1. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why?



21 steps:  It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute which the highest honor is given any military or foreign dignitary.



2. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin his return walk and why?

21 seconds for the same reason as answer number 1

3. Why are his gloves wet?

His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the rifle.

4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time
and, if not, why not?

He carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb. After his march across the path, he executes an about face and moves the rifle to the outside shoulder.

5. How often are the guards changed?

Guards are changed every thirty minutes,
twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.

6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?

For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be
between 5' 10' and 6' 2' tall and his waist size cannot exceed 30.

They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot drink any alcohol on or off duty for the rest of their lives. They cannot swear in public for the
rest of their lives and cannot disgrace the uniform or the tomb in any way.

After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on
their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only
400 presently worn. The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their
lives or give up the wreath pin.

The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to the  top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt.

There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform.. Guards dress for duty
in front of a full-length mirror.

The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone nor
watch TV All off duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid
to rest in Arlington National Cemetery . A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred. Among the notables are:

President Taft,
Joe Lewis {the boxer}
Medal of Honor winner Audie L. Murphy, the most
decorated soldier of WWII and of Hollywood fame.

Every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready for
guard duty.

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

In 2003 as Hurricane Isabelle was approaching Washington, DC, our
US Senate/House took 2 days off with anticipation of the storm. On the ABC evening news, it was reported that because of the dangers from the
hurricane, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of
the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment. They
respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!" Soaked to the skin,
marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding
the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that can be
afforded to a serviceperson. The tomb has been patrolled continuously,
24/7, since 1930.

God Bless and keep them.

Deer Rescue

This is something

On trip to Taku Harbor some Satre's encountered four deer swimming. They figured they maybe had about ten or fifteen minutes left before drowning. They swam to the boat, They lassoed them and brought them on board. Only one was able to stand when we got to Taku Harbor about 30-45 minutes later. Got them off boat, one (strongest) walked on dock, jumped in and swam to shore, we walked two more up after we could get them to stand and then rubbed down the last one and half carried him to top of dock. He had stood up for a bit and if he could get a bit warmer and rest for half an hour probably could join his buddies. Four "button" bucks that will hopefully produce smarter offspring....what an experience.

The True Story of Rudolph

A man named Bob May, depressed and brokenhearted, stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling December night.
His 4-year-old daughter Barbara sat on his lap quietly sobbing. Bob's wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer Little Barbara couldn't understand why her mommy could never come home. Barbara looked up into her dad's eyes and asked, "Why isn't Mommy just like everybody else's Mommy?" Bob's jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears. Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger. It had been the story of Bob's life. Life always had to be different for Bob.
Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he'd rather not remember. >From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed to fit in. Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed with his little girl. But it was all short-lived. Evelyn's bout with cancer stripped them of all their savings and now Bob and his daughter were forced to live in a two-room apartment in the Chicago slums. Evelyn died just days before Christmas in 1938.
Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he couldn't even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he couldn't buy a gift, he was determined to make one - a storybook! Bob had created an animal character in his own mind and told the animal's story to little Barbara to give her comfort and hope. Again and again Bob told the story, embellishing it more with each telling. Who was the character? What was the story all about? The story Bob May created was his own autobiography in fable form. The character he created was a misfit outcast like he was. The name of the character? A little reindeer named Rudolph, with a big shiny nose. Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little girl on Christmas Day. But the story doesn't end there.
The general manager of Montgomery Ward caught wind of the little storybook and offered Bob May a nominal fee to purchase the rights to print the book. Wards went on to print,_ Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer_ and distribute it to children visiting Santa Claus in their stores. By 1946 Wards had printed and distributed more than six million copies of Rudolph. That same year, a major publisher wanted to purchase the rights from Wards to print an updated version of the book.
In an unprecedented gesture of kindness, the CEO of Wards returned all rights back to Bob May. The book became a best seller. Many toy and marketing deals followed and Bob May, now remarried with a growing family, became wealthy from the story he created to comfort his grieving daughter. But the story doesn't end there either.
Bob's brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song adaptation to Rudolph. Though the song was turned down by such popular vocalists as Bing Crosby and Dinah Shore , it was recorded by the singing cowboy, Gene Autry. "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" was released in 1949 and became a phenomenal success, selling more records than any other Christmas song, with the exception of "White Christmas."

The gift of love that Bob May created for his daughter so long ago kept on returning back to bless him again and again. And Bob May learned the lesson, just like his dear friend Rudolph, that being different isn't so bad. In fact, being different can be a blessing.

Remember Ann Margret

This is a good counter-balance story to the Jane Fonda, story.

Viet Nam1966

Richard, (my husband), never really talked a lot about his time in Viet Nam , other than he had been shot by a sniper. However, he had a rather grainy, 8 x 10 black and white photo he had taken at a USO show of Ann Margret with Bob Hope in the background that was one of his treasures.
A few years ago, Ann Margret was doing a book signing at a local bookstore. Richard wanted to see if he could get her to sign the treasured photo so he arrived at the bookstore at 12 o'clock for the 7:30 signing.
When I got there after work, the line went all the way around the bookstore, circled the parking lot, and disappeared behind a parking garage. Before her appearance, bookstore employees announced that she would sign only her book and no memorabilia would be permitted.

Richard was disappointed, but wanted to show her the photo and let her know how much those shows meant to lonely GI's so far from home. Ann Margaret came out looking as beautiful as ever and, as second in line, it was soon Richard's turn.
He presented the book for her signature and then took out the photo. When he did, there were many shouts from the employees that she would not sign it. Richard said, "I understand. I just wanted her to see it."
She took one look at the photo, tears welled up in her eyes and she said, "This is one of my gentlemen from Viet Nam and I most certainly will sign his photo. I know what these men did for their country and I always have time for 'my gentlemen.''

With that, she pulled Richard across the table and planted a big kiss on him. She then made quite a to-do about the bravery of the young men she met over the years, how much she admired them, and how much she appreciated them. There weren't too many dry eyes among those close enough to hear. She then posed for pictures and acted as if he were the only one there.
Later at dinner, Richard was very quiet. When I asked if he'd like to talk about it, my big, strong husband broke down in tears. ''That's the first time anyone ever thanked me for my time in the Army,'' he said.
That night was a turning point for him. He walked a little straighter and, for the first time in years, was proud to have been a Vet. I'll never forget Ann Margret for her graciousness and how much that small act of kindness meant to my husband.
I now make it a point to say 'Thank you' to every person I come across who served in our Armed Forces. Freedom does not come cheap and I am grateful for all those who have served their country.

If you'd like to pass on this story, feel free to do so. Perhaps it will help others to become aware of how important it is to acknowledge the contribution our service people make.

:WALKING THE DOG:

A woman was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. Unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to Sacramento along the way.
The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.
Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind.

A man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her guide dog lay quietly
Underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight.
He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said,"Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?"
The blind lady said, "No thanks, but maybe Buddy would like to stretch his legs."

Picture this:

All the people in the gate area came to a complete stand still when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a guide dog for the blind! Even worse, the pilot was wearing sunglasses!

People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines! True story.....

Here's how: thought it was quite interesting! And I Know in about 30 seconds you're going to do what I did And find the nearest mirror.
Do you know how to determine if a mirror is 2-way or not? A policewoman who travels all over the US and Gives seminars and techniques for businesswomen passed This on.
When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, Changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure That the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall Is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (I.e.,They can see you, but you can't see them)? There have Been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in
Female changing rooms . It is very difficult to Positively identify the surface by looking at it.
So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty What type of mirror we are looking at?
Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your Fingernail against the reflective surface and if there Is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the Nail, then it is GENUINE mirror. (see below image)

However, if your Fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, Then BEWARE! IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR! (see below image)

he decided to use toothpicks. He used more than 100,000 toothpicks, and it took 35 years to build. Not only is it huge, you can take multiple tours using little plastic balls.

To naturally think positive about the future, you will need to reframe your entire emotional state so that your brain naturally initiates the positive thought process all on its own. A dose of daily laughter is the key to manifesting an amazing life that you love. Laughing is a key ingredient in learning how to let go. It is one of the most positive releases one can experience without having an actual orgasm! Laughter frees you up in such a unique way that there is no "mind" there analyzing, criticizing, and constantly efforting to remain in control. A good long authentic belly laugh is one of the best medicines you could ever take on a daily basis. If you can truly do this everyday, it's a good chance you're a highly liberated human being who is far along the journey on your spiritual path.

If you can just have one big long deep belly laugh every day about something, anything that is remotely humorous, you will start opening yourself up like a flower to receive a major healing in your life. There are thousands of reported clinical cases where people have been healed of major life threatening diseases just through laughing. The endorphins released in your brain naturally create a "happy cocktail" which over time induces me a massive healing reaction throughout the body. So really life basically comes down to... you laugh or you die. If you cannot laugh about yourself, your life or whatever you're taking too seriously, you're doing the opposite of healing yourself. So give yourself permission to have the biggest belly laugh of your life in the next 24 hours, and don't hold back! It's common that people believe that some silly event needs to happen in order to really have a good laugh. The truth is that if you can start looking for the humor in life, you can laugh at just about anything. There is a perspective which is less dramatic, serious, and worried than any other. It just sees this human experience as if it was one big long comedy. Just try to take a humorous view about something you're taking very seriously in your life. Is your seriousness really helping? Laughing about it feels much better than being angry, depressed, ashamed, blamed or playing some old victim game inside. No matter what it is, you can always choose to see the divine order and comedy behind it all. You can let your life become a big orgasmic ball of laughter that fills the space with joy everywhere you are.

The more you laugh, the more you are free. You release that all mighty grip on those all too important thoughts, beliefs, expectations and desires. The freedom leads you directly into the enlightened state. When you realize that you're in charge of which thoughts you choose to entertain, you fall directly into the cosmic joke of it all. The joke is that you are whatever you decide to put your attention on, you become that! Reality is like silly putty. It bends and molds to wherever you focus your mind. You can make it be whatever you want it to be. In one second, everything can change and your entire perspective can shift a millimeter to the left, and you suddenly have a brand new expansive understanding about your entire life.

The funniest thing about laughter is that it's not something you can do, it's something that happens to you. An authentic outrageous laughing attack can only fall upon you when you have learned how to totally let go. If you want to enjoy your life to the max, you must be able to let go of it. It's ironic, yet the idea that we are "in control" of our lives forces us to eventually swing over into the sense of feeling "out of control". When you can embrace both sides of the equation and consciously allow the ego to imagine its "in control" or "out of control", then you can transcend them both. This is when the great cosmic joke sets in and you realize there is no need try to control anything. You awaken to the fact that one of the greatest goals in life is to let it become one deep long "let go". This is when enlightenment sneaks in.

It's this overly serious mind who has blinded you from knowing how to fully enjoy life. It has gotten lost in the world of trying to achieve, resist and become something. Laughter is not about achieving anything, it is a releasing and a cleansing of your past. It liberates you from the mind and delivers you to a place of deep peace inside where enlightenment can be found. The serious mind doesn't have time or reason to laugh. It sees no purpose in laughing because it's sooo caught up in it's own web of illusions. The serious mind has forgotten that the Universe is a giant cosmic karmic playground where you are the actor, director and producer of the play, as well as the watcher, witnesser and audience who's seeing it all happening on stage. This massive playground exists in all directions and is within everything around you now. Just feel the vastness of its infinite presence. Connecting with the infinite Universe provides the space to relax, let go of everything, and laugh at it all.

There really is just one simple rule for creating massive joy in your life this week. If you want to have an amazing life that you love, don't ever let seriousness into your body....ever! No matter what anyone tells you, if what you're doing is not enjoyable, fun, or at least educational, then don't do it! You can find something better! Seriousness is a disease to your soul and only cripples your life. It's never too late to change directions and have a sense of humor about it all. Just choose to let a little more lightness into your heart right now. How does that feel? If you can bring this lighter heart feeling into your mornings, your entire week will become lighter and more clear. The cloudy skies go away and you can see how beautiful and FUN life is again! Did you remember that life is supposed to be fun? It just feels good to see how ridiculous the serious mind is, and how overly contracted it can become about anything.

Happiness is always a choice. What appears to be serious now will only change with time, so why not let go of this tension earlier? You can afford to follow a lighter path now, and others will appreciate it. They will soon catch on. Even if people are devout grumpsters, your simple light heartedness may be the secret to helping them bust a smile when no one is watching. Having access to this light playful spirit is the key to creating a tremendous healing in your life. It's the great golden secret to turning everyone's life around...including yours! Simply say to yourself everyday, "I can let go and laugh about it all!" Yes! It's time you started to have more fun in this awesome game called Life. It all starts by taking a tiny step back from the mind, and not taking anything (especially your mind) too seriously.

Weak Password Management: A Dream Come True for Cyber-Thieves

With so many criminals eager to break into your online accounts to steal your money and your identity, it's critical to create and use strong and long-length passwords to keep them all out.

But the average person probably has scores of passwords to remember and manage – and unfortunately most respond to this challenge by adopting very simple, easy-to-break passwords.

Today's Executive Bulletin is especially important if you have an elderly parent who uses the Internet. Many individuals who are less net-savvy tend to use easy-to-break passwords for all of their online activities, involving bank accounts, retirement accounts, and other critical items.

Password Management Must Become a Personal Goal

Let's face it – without adopting an effective personal password management system, there are just too many user names and passwords to memorize. After Sony's security breach early this year, security professionals were able to analyze the exposed passwords and discovered 92% of passwords were re-used across more than one Sony platform. (Implying most do not create unique passwords to protect their various accounts. Sound familiar?)

This is disturbing, because once a thief breaches one account, all other accounts can fall like dominoes. Creating and using long and secure passwords is vital to your privacy and security.

Below are savvy strategies that can help take the burden out of creating and memorizing passwords. These approaches can make the whole process of "password management" much more convenient, fast, and more secure than what you may be doing now. Before diving into them, let's review how to create secure passwords in the first place because in order to get the most out of either of these strategies, you will need to create... strong and secure passwords for them.

Best Practices for Creating Secure Passwords

Make your password much longer! Hint: aim for at 15+ characters in length. Pad it!
Include each of the four character types in the password: symbols, uppercase letters, numbers, and lowercase letters; in that order of preference. In other words, most people use only lowercase letters and do not use symbols – go against the herd.
Turn easy-to-remember phrases into passwords, then add in and flip around the four characters... then, pad it and make it longer.
Do NOT use easy to guess passwords or passwords that can be found in any dictionary (including foreign language dictionaries). It's worth mentioning, don't use any personal information as a password either – birth date, child's name, address, etc.
Do NOT use the same password, or similar passwords, for all your accounts (bank, broker, online credit card portal, Facebook, Amazon, or hotmail)! If one account gets compromised you don't want to create a domino effect.
Do NOT use your top-secret, extra-secure passwords (banking or insurance, for instance), with less secure accounts like webmail or free membership sites.

Two Convenient, Fast, and Secure Password Management Tips

1. Truecrypt.org and Wuala.com:Truecrypt is a free, open-source solution you can download and use to encrypt any and all local files on your computer. Here's what you do:

First, you create a password file. It could be a simple document with a list that contains the account name, user name, and password. For instance, Facebook: username, password; Gmail: username, password; and so on.
When you need to login to an account, open your encrypted password list and retrieve the appropriate login and password credentials.
You can keep a back up of your password list on your jump drive or upload the encrypted list to a cloud storage account such as Wuala.com.
Wuala adds a bit more convenience because it allows you to automatically sync your stored data onto different devices. And it lets you access your password file from virtually any Internet connection in the world.
In addition, Wuala enables you to encrypt, back up, and store any file (not just your password list) to the cloud and access it via the Internet.

2. LastPass.com was founded specifically to address secure password management concerns. Their free option is extremely robust. All the steps mentioned above – using Truecrypt to encrypt your password list and storing it on local hardware (such as a USB jump drive) or in the cloud – are rolled into one seamless package with LastPass, with a few extras included. Here are some highlights:

One Click Login – Once you load your accounts, usernames, and passwords into LastPass, all you need to do in the future is click one button and LastPass automatically logs you into the account you want (banking, webmail, Twitter, etc.). No need to type!

Generate Secure Passwords – You can ask the program to generate secure passwords for you. You don't have to spend any time "inventing" new passwords. Just choose the parameters you want the program to use to generate new password ideas such as: lower case letters, upper case letters, numbers, and special characters. Then accept or decline the passwords the program generates.

Screen Keyboard – Protect yourself from malicious keylogging software. Keylogging software records the keys you type onto your keyboard. This is especially a concern if you access LastPass from a computer that doesn't belong to you (perhaps at an Internet cafe). Instead of typing your password on the keyboard, click on the "screen keyboard" link and a "graphical" keyboard image appears on the computer screen. Then, use the mouse to select each key you need to input your login and password information into LastPass. Any existing keylogging software is rendered useless.

One-Time Passwords – These are auto-generated, throw-away passwords that give you temporary access to your LastPass account. LastPass makes this feature available to help secure your master password while you're on the road or if you want to share your account information with a trusted person, but only once. Once a One-Time Password is used, it expires and can't be used again.

Password Sharing – This enables you to securely share certain passwords with others and maintain the ability to cancel the privilege at any time. This is a feature you'd use when collaborating on a project and you want other members to have access to the same account. Perhaps to the back end of a website or online film and photo-editing service.

Multi-factor Authentication – This is a paid feature that greatly enhances security. It allows you to set up LastPass to grant access after "two-steps" are satisfied. For example, enter the correct LastPass credentials AND an additional set of credentials. Perhaps input a second graphical-based password or connecting a "physical key," such as a USB jump drive or Yubikey, into the computer to allow access to your LastPass account. If one step is missing, access is denied.

Other features worth noting: Phishing Protection – Helps protect you from phishing attacks. These attacks work like scams. The crooks send a fake email, perhaps one appearing as though it's from the victim's bank. The email asks the victim to enter their login information onto a fake web page designed to look like the bank's website. If the victim is duped and complies, the crooks have all the needed banking account information.

Identify Weak Passwords – LastPass can analyze your passwords for weaknesses and offers suggestions to strengthen them.

Identities – This enables you to organize your passwords by segregating your personal accounts and passwords from your work-related passwords and accounts.

There are other password management services on the market. However, one more important security feature not available with many other services is the decryption keys stay with you. This means even LastPass employees cannot and do not have the ability to access your encrypted data through their corporate servers.

Please note: you still have to create strong and secure passwords for each of your accounts to maintain enhanced security. But the good news is with a secure password management system, you no longer need to memorize all of them. Just simply memorize the one master password for the password management program and better protect your privacy and security the easy way!
