Laura Tsaggaris Fans: March Newsletter

Hi Everyone!

Starting off with a windy March, we are. I can't wait for spring! Here's what we've got going on this month:

1. Big show in Philadelphia next Sunday at The Tin Angel. I've been wanting to play this room for a while, and it's been so long since I've played in Philly. Looking forward to it!

2. I've got another great lineup for my acoustic series, Modern Underground, this month... I'm featuring Victoria Vox from Baltimore, MD (recently on the Jay Leno show (pre-Conan controversy!) and voted Best Folk Contemporary Vocalist at the Washington Area Music Awards this past Sunday) and Matt Douglas from Raleigh, NC (on tour playing horns with Erin McKeown (as she opens for Ani DiFranco) and currently part of The Proclivities and The Small Ponds). Join us this Thursday at Ebenezers for a round of great songs and storytelling.

3. New videos are being added regularly to YouTube by Overtime Records' masked maven. OK, she may not actually WEAR a mask, but she is quickly becoming a maven behind the camera! So, the name will stick. Band rehearsals and shows, general tomfoolery are usually the subject of her work. Check the Keep Talking channel periodically to see what's going on in the "Favorites" section....

4. I'm playing Jammin' Java next week with one of the DC's area's great songwriters. I open up for Todd Wright (formerly of The Getaway Car) on March 10th. Details on this and other shows below....

The Fuse News

The Bull and Gate, 12th March

The Fuse are competing in this years Emergenza Festival competition, and the first round is on the 12th March at the Bull and Gate, Kentish Town. Its the biggest competition of its kind worldwide, drawing bands from Australia to Iceland. The first prize is to play at the Emergenza Festival in Germany this summer, to 30k people.

As is usually the case for these events, support is everything!

Roll Up for The Diner Tour  March 19 - 21 Kindred Souls is about to embark on our NJ Diner Tour on March 19-21 to raise money for the NJ Federation of Food Banks. We will perform a 20 minute set at a diner in each of New Jersey's 21 counties in a 48-hour period with the goal of raising at least $250 per diner.That's enough money to buy 21,000 pounds of food. Charitable organizations throughout New Jersey will receive food supplies to help feed children, seniors and adults.  Please visit www.dinertournj.com to see which diner is closest to you. Why is this cause important?  Last year the NJ Federation of Food Banks distributed over 27 million pounds of food to more than 1,800 charitable programs statewide. But, donations are down while the need is growing. We know in these tight financial times making donations can be difficult. But, with the buying power of the food banks even small donations make a difference. Food banks can purchase about 1,000 pounds of food for $250. If enough people participate, collectively their small donations can make a big difference. If you could help us, we'd really appreciate it.  How?  Download our song Whatchagonnado and donate a dollar or more.  Help spread the word via your social networks. And, please come see us at a diner near you.  We promise it will be fun, and eating at the diners supporting us is the quintessential New Jersey dining experience. Isn't it?
