WATCH/TUNE IN: this FRIDAY @ 6pm WLOS's broadcast their Person of the Week segment...i am proud and humbled to say they chose ME in connection w/ the benefit...in truth, i am only a LONG list of amazing people who are making this heartfelt event take place...but if it will get the word out about this show, i will gladly accept the air-time! the segment will include performances from myself and other participants in the HHH Benefit as well as an amazing interview w/ my brother about the organization to which we'll send donations... http://www.wlos.com/newsroom/potw/

the event we've been planning for three weeks!!! THE HELP HAITI HEAL BENEFIT !!!
we start the show at 7pm (SHARP!) on Saturday with an amazing presentation by my brother, Woody Talley, about the organization that will recieve our donations...immediately following the presentation I will perform a set followed by David Holt, Akira Satake, Free Planet Radio, Miriam Matossian, Ash Devine, Riyen Roots, Paco Shipp, Mike Guggino (of Steep Canyon Rangers), Kat Williams, & Sirius.B
on Sunday the show starts @ 2pm: starting again w/ a quick presentation by Woody Talley followed by Buyaka, Daniel Barber, Sons of Ralph,Taylor Martin’s Engine, Menage , Kim Hughes Richard Inman, Peggy Ratusz, Kellin Watson & Skinny Legs and All...for further schedule details visit the site (www.helphaitihealbenefit.com)
this benefit is something VERY close to my heart and i truly hope that you can spread the word about the incredible cause and stories...i encourage you to check out the HHH Benefit website (www.helphaitihealbenefit.com) as well as SOIL's website (www.oursoil.org)...SOIL is a non-profit, grassroots, on-the-ground organization in Haiti where my brother was an intern...because of that, he has direct contact with the co-founder (Sasha Kramer) who has been sending us very personal heartbreaking yet hopeful emails when she is not assisting in immediate aid...i feel very lucky to have my brother close to me and his big humanitarian heart have inspired me...you can see his blog during his time there: http://woodyinhaiti.blogspot.com/2008/01/first-2-days.html ....
aside from this week's media appearances & shows, i recently had a REALLY great studio session (working towards my new one!) oh yes!!!!!! i had some great players come in to help: Mike Barnes on guitar, Bryan White on bass & Jeffrey Rudolph on drums in addition to my good friend and schemer Aaron Price at Collapseable Studios...i anticipate a BIG sound out of this next record...my goal is to have something out by spring...that said, i unfortunately have had to cancel my Texas dates in order to concentrate more on the new record...i know that its' all about timing and i just think it's important that i nurture the new cd as much as i can before i send it out into the world...
in this new year there have already been major changes and challenges personally and professionally....i accept each of them with good spirits, bringing with me only the positive things from each situation and know that i have learned so much from each. i'm one lucky girl and i have been given so much that i am truly grateful for.....i am grateful for my encouraging husband, family & friends and of course the people who come to my shows, spread the word about my music, and allow me to continue to follow my heart....love from these north carolina mountains-xxx ooo-nikki
