Do you take public transit (bus or subway) in your city? If so, does your personal space shrink? That is, you try to be smaller so as to not be touched accidently or you give more space to others? Is it because you feel strangers are dirty?

I ride the bus/underground all the time for two reasons. 1. I don't have a car. 2. I get to go free anyway. I don't care about that personal space crap. The only time I have an issue is when I have to stand or sit next to some dirty bastard with B.O.
