Jamie's video message

Hi Guys

It's Food Revolution Friday!

The Food Revolution is not just a tv show, it's a movement for you, your family and your community. We have set up a Food Revolution Community page on Facebook for "Food Revolutionaries" across the USA – you are one of them. Cook my omelet recipe this weekend for your family or friends and post up the pictures on the Food Revolution Community page.

Watch this week's Food Revolution News and post your stories on the Food Revolution Community page on Facebook.

Please forward this email to everybody you know and ask them to sign the the petition. Sir Paul McCartney and Sting and his wife Trudie Styler have signed the petition this week.

Thank you again for your support. Together we can end childhood obesity in the US and throughout the world.

Big love and respect,

Jamie Oliver

Social Security

I think its time that WE the people STOP this and have them start paying into SSN - why does the hard working citizens have to foot the BILL? They're no more special than you and I doing a job that they were voted from the people! SO PUT  A STOP TO IT NOW>.. send to all your friends family... I don't care if your left, right, middle... THIS AFFECTS US ALL!!

Social Security 2009

2010 is an election year for 1/3 of the senate and 1/2 of the house of representatives

. It would be nice if congress got the message; the voting taxpayers are in charge now.

Social Security 2009

LET US SHOW OUR LEADERS IN WASHINGTON "PEOPLE POWER" AND THE POWER OF THE INTERNET. PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS.

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!

KEEP IT GOING!!!!

Propose this in 2009:

START A BILL TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY

------------  --------- ---------  ----

SOCIAL SECURITY:

(This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.

Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social  Security and, of course, they do not collect  from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society.  They felt they should have a special plan for themselves So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.

In more recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is   great plan.

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.

Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. .....

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000.00 during the last years of their lives.

This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age; will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00.

ZIP!! NADA!!!  ZILCH!!!

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;

"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"!

>From  our own Social Security  Plan,  which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every  payday until we retire  (which amount is matched  by  our  employer ), We  can expect to get an average of

$1,000  per month  after  retirement.

Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill  Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.

That change would be to

Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. . Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us

Then sit back.....

And see how fast they would fix it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

How many people can YOU send this to?

Better yet......

How many people WILL you send this to?

P.S. The same goes for their health plan

Coworking facebook plug

#CHSCoWork - May 11th @ 6pm Rehava - 5060 International Blvd #103 North Charleston, SC - mark the calendar for this special meeting to get this organization moving forward to the future! SEE ALL OF YOU THERE! :)

http://chscowork.org/posts/drafting-future-charleston-coworking

Drafting the future of Charleston Coworking
On Tuesday, May 11, the Charleston Coworking after hours session will
focus on tuning the direction of coworking and how we can continue to
grow it.

We're also interested in bringing new leaders on board and assigning
roles (read: someone to head up after hours, social media, donations,
recruitment, and so on.) This is a great chance to get your name and
what you do out there.

Co-working has received an enthusiastic response from the community
but we need to continue to spread the word and educate the community.
We also want to revisit the topic of our move to the North Charleston
Meeting Spot.

So, mark your calendars for Tuesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. at Rehava (5060
International Boulevard #103 North Charleston.)

The Eyjafjallajokull eruption

 The Eyjafjallajokull eruption (Update)

Photographer Martin Rietze got to within 250 metres of the lava fountains to capture his stunning series of images

Lava hits the sea from the volcanic eruption between the Myrdalsjokull and Eyjafjallajokull glaciers, east of Iceland's capital Reykjavik

Only around an hour old, this lavaflow is falling from a steep cliff a few hundred metres from the main eruption

Lava spurts out of the site of a volcanic eruption at the Fimmvorduhals volcano near the Eyjafjallajokull glacier

Close-up: The dark cloud of smoke coming from the Icelandic crater as seen by an Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter

The plume from the Icelandic volcano - seen as a grey-brown streak drifting across the middle of the image - is visible from space. It was imaged by the Modis instruments on two Nasa satellites as it blew towards the Shetland Islands

Coating: Researchers at Sheffield Hallam University collected these particles of volcanic ash (seen here under a microscope) which fell on cars in the centre's grounds earlier today

Frozen: Ice chunks carried downstream by floodwaters caused by volcanic activity lie on the Markarfljot riverbank in Iceland yesterday

Dusty: A car in Iceland drives through the ash from the volcano

Widespread: Ash from the erupting volcano sweeps in an arc across the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Russia in this image from NASA yesterday

Spectacular: A satellite image of the volcano under the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in Iceland

A man surveys what is left of the main Icelandic coastal road after it was washed away by flood water following the volcano eruption

Around 800 people have had to be evacuated and 70 tourists were rescued after they were trapped by the rising flood waters

Spectacular: Plumes of smoke shoot up from a volcano under the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in Iceland today which has erupted for the first time in 200 years

The Eyjafjallajokull eruption is the second in less than a month and has seen hundreds of international flights cancelled

Workers have been forced to smash holes through roads in Iceland to allow the surging flood water to escape out to sea

Part of the glacier has melted under the ferocious temperatures causing the flood swell to pour down the mountain

Experts are concerned the recent eruption could trigger another more powerful one from the nearby Katla volcano

The eruption has caused travel disruption across Europe as airspace has been shut down

Tim Miller - Spring 2010 Mailer

April 23, 2010

Hey Guys!

Hey Guys, I know it’s been a while since I sent out a mailer – there’s a lot of great stuff to fill to you in on.

First off, I have a big show Friday night (4/23) in Dallas at The Kessler with Robert Gomez and Barry Kooda. If you’re looking for something to do Friday and haven’t been to a show in a while, this would be a good one to come to. As always, bring your 200 closest friends with you.

Some more upcoming shows:

  • 04/24/10, Nashville, TN - Ugly Mugs, 6:30pm
  • 05/08/10, North Richland Hills, TX - Roots Coffeehouse, 8:00pm
  • 05/15/10, Gorham, ME - Pine Crest Club House Concerts, 7:00pm
  • 05/22/10, Swedesboro, NJ - Jammin’ Jules Concerts, 7:30pm
RSVP info
  • 05/23/10, NY, NY - The Bitter End, 8:30pm
  • 06/04/10, Austin, TX - Momo's, 6:30pm
  • 06/05/10, Dallas, TX - The Prophet Bar, 9:30pm
  • 06/12/10, Dallas, TX - Studio by the Lake, 8:00pm
  • 08/7/10, Norman, OK - Othello's, 9:30pm

  • New EP Coming Next Month

Second on the list is the new EP due out next month. Here’s a sneak peak of the new version of St. Louis, originally off the first album. The EP also has stripped down versions of Spell It Out and Caught. The next full length of new stuff should be coming your way late 2010, early 2011. I’ll be throwing some “home” video recordings of the new songs up on timmiller.com as I write, so be sure to visit the site. On a side note, there’s a bunch of new videos up on my youtube channel with songs from Austin during SXSW week.

    New Management

Third – I am really excited to announce that I have signed a management agreement with Segue Management. These guys are great and I am stoked they are involved with helping things progress to the next level.

    Last but not least.

Lastly, bringing the total up to 16 shows - Adelaide just licensed by MTV for Cribs, True Life, My Life as Liz, My Super Sweet 16, My Super Sweet Sixteen Battles and Teen Cribs.

p.s. I'm not even sure what a teen crib actually is.

That’s it for now – I will talk to you soon,

    Much love,

    Tim
