Art For Progress Artist Happenings
Welcome to our April newsletter. We just completed our 4th annual "Clash of the Artists" competitions and we'd like to thank everyone who came out and supported the artists and AFP. It's always a special night and Clash of the Artists 2011 will be our 5th annual event!
In this issue of our newsletter we'll feature AFP's upcoming "Shorts and Beats San Francisco" event, a new partnership with Corel Software and events and opportunities from our calendar.
AFP presents "Shorts and Beats V. VI San Francisco"
On Saturday, May 22nd Art For Progress will present emerging filmmakers and underground DJs at Project One in San Francisco, California. The popular event series heads west and teams up with Nitevibe (www.nitevibe.com) for promotional support with additional sponsors to be announced.
DJ's and filmmakers from both coasts will be featured along with the current visual art exhibition in Project One's gallery. Filmmakers who are interested in submitting films should download the details by visiting the link below.

Art For Progress Partners with Corel Software
AFP and Corel partner to offer AFP members an unbeatable deal on two great software programs for artists. With this offer members can purchase CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 and Corel Painter 11 for $99 each. Both products are regularly priced at $430! You can save $330.
We're very pleased with this new partnership and we hope you'll take advantage of this offer. This is another great example of how we continue to offer more value for artists. Log-in to the web site and look in our "Partners" section to find out more and how to purchase the software.

Art For Progress Artist Membership Benefits
AFP offers a host of valuable benefits for our artist members.
Our health insurance program offers affordable options with low deductibles. Low deductibles are very important because high deductible plans hinder your ability to access care. High deductible plans are only good for catastrophic coverage. Currently, our basic HMO plan premium is around $310 per month with no deductible and a $20 copay for a doctor visit. If you live outside of New York, you can purchase coverage through our partner Fractured Atlas. When you purchase an AFP membership, you also get a free membership ($150) to Fractured Atlas.
Plays for Progress Kicks off Spring Season
What seperates each generation from the next? What makes them unique? Generation WHY seeks to answer these questions and more as it takes a closer look at Generation Y, those current 20/30 somethings who seek to make the world a different, better place but don't quite know how. Join the cast as they laugh, cry, search for love, secure careers and try to answer some of life's important questions of why we are here. Produced by Plays for Progress (PFP), in conjunction with Art For Progress (AFP), the sping show will be performed on April 30-May 2nd at the Milagro Theatre in Manhattan.
